I Am Older!

Everyone ages. You have no control over that. BUT, you do have control over your attitude and your appreciation. I have not had good examples of "growing old gracefully." My family has fought it "tooth and nail!" It's really not funny. It takes the joy out of the "season." I want to break that cycle. I take care of myself, I eat right, I exercise, I enjoy everything I do and I love the Lord. I appreciate all that I have. I am soooooo blessed that I can't imagine cursing aging, but I have. I will stop. I will set a good example for my children. So... Happy Birthday to ME!

Awwwww, you have my attitude!!! Age is just a NUMBER! I embrace each birthday and know that every wrinkle, line and gray hair that I have is MINE and part of what makes me who I am. I personally think we look PRETTY DARN GOOD for mommies of FOUR each! ha ha ha

Happy Birthday Leslie!!!

I hear you. Sometimes it seems that keeping a good attitude about aging can require an almost daily "attitude check". It's hard in today's society to remember what is REALLY important. I am so guilty in this area. I too often think it is easy for some people to grow old gracefully and embrace aging because THEY look good while they get older! We're often too hard on ourselves.

I think you do a much better job than you give yourself credit for :) Sometimes it's not how we "feel", but adjusting how we "think" and then the feelings will follow. This post is a good reminder of how we should be 'thinking'....so remind me to come back and read it next month on my birthday when I need an attitude adjustment while I lament getting older :)
Apart from that, I mean it when I say that you are beautiful inside and out - anyone that knows you even a little bit (even through your blog!) can see that.
When you look at your beautiful family, be reminded of how they got that way :) Brad is cute and all, but I think you had much more to do with it :) just kidding - you are all so special to us and we are blessed to have not just great family members, but great friends as well. Just wish we could see each other more.... counting the days til we can meet up. (not much longer-yaaa!)
Happy Birthday - I love you much!!
